Easy Paleo Beef and Broccoli

A quick, easy, and delicious meal is always welcomed, especially for busy nights and hungry (and picky) stomachs! This Easy Paleo Beef and Broccoli is all the above! Not only is it more affordable than takeout, but it’s completely guilt-free, gluten-free, dairy-free, refined sugar free, and clean-eating—all while being super yummy!

Ingredients
  • 1 - 1.25 lb. sirloin steak, sliced against the grain ¼ inches thick (can sub another steak of choice, like flank if you prefer)
  • 1 lb. broccoli florets (about 1½ medium broccoli heads or 2 small broccoli heads)
  • ¼ cup + 2 tablespoons coconut aminos
  • ½ cup beef broth, low-sodium or sodium-free
  • ¼ cup green onion, finely sliced
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil (can sub another cooking fat of choice)
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon raw honey
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt, or to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper, or to taste
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Instructions
  1. Start by slicing the steak against the grain in ¼ inch thick strips.
  2. Then, in a medium bowl, add the coconut aminos, beef broth, sliced green onion, honey, and spices and whisk together. (I recommend letting the steak marinade in the sauce for 20 minutes – 1 hour before cooking, but it’s not mandatory. :))
  3. Next, in a large saucepan with high sides or a wok, over medium-high heat, add the olive oil.
  4. Thereafter, sauté the minced garlic until fragrant. Then, add the steak strips (without the sauce).
  5. Once the steak is cooked through on all sides (about 5 minutes), pour in the sauce and stir to coat the steak fully.
  6. Furthermore, add the broccoli florets and stir to combine.
  7. Turn the heat down to medium, bringing the sauce to a simmer, and cook for about 5 minutes, or until the broccoli has met your desired doneness.
  8. Garnish with sesame seeds if preferred and serve up! Enjoy! :)
Notes
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for about 3 days! :)
